Barracuda is my favorite beachfront restaurant, located on Camarones Beach in the Cinco de Diciembre neighborhood; it has a casual beach vibe with great drinks and food.
While you consider your choices from the menu, enjoy the complimentary totopos with three different kinds of salsas, delicious Pico de Gallo, pickled red onions and my favorite, the spicy habanero red sauce. They are addictive and I know a lot of people that come here just for these sauces.
My favorites from the menu include the tuna sashimi, super fresh tuna with a combination of habanero chili, spices and lime juice, the perfect balance between spicy and sour, delicious! Also, on top of my list is the Peruvian Ceviche, the Chicharron de Queso (baked cheese used as tortillas filled with seafood) – a seafood lover’s dream come true. Here, you can also find the tenderest octopus around, prepared with guajillo chili, it is a must if you love octopus as I do. They also have amazing fish and shrimp tacos, Arrachera molcajetes and seafood specialties. I always pair my meal with a margarita or beer, but they have a fantastic cocktail and wine menu and craft beers.
El Barracuda is open daily, and the best is that it is pet-friendly, so you don’t have to leave your furry friend at home. Good news for those living in Riviera Nayarit, El Barracuda has a second location in Nuevo Vallarta.
Bring your appetite because Barracuda serves up some of the best seafood in town and it won't disappoint you!
